Where is the Mahindra 2015 Made?

That is interesting on the Rubber, That probably cuts down on the shipping weight and it isn't the high dollar (profitable) part of the tractor. So they will let the US have the profit on the tires.... we need to fix that soon.

I think Japan and South Korea are making good tractors.

Or maybe we just make a better tire, the reason I looked is because Chinese rubber with start weather checking after just a few years from what I read on line a few years ago so I deff wanted to stay away from a tractor with Chinese rubber, all were American made titan or carlisle, all but JD, I didn't see a manufacturer on those, the tires on my 05 JD are titans made in the USA boldly stamped on the sidewall, the new JDs didn't have anything or was in small print anyway and I never tracked it down.

I know the new Mahindra sub compact and compact tractors are made in South Korea and the tier 4 engine is made in India by Mitsubishi/Bosch/Mahindra. I was looking at a 2013 28 max and found that the FEL at least was made in Japan, if the front end loader has 2 pistons its Japanese, if it has a single piston in the center of the loader its South Korean FEL. I like Mahindra a lot.

As far as manufacturing goes, all sub compacts and compact tractors under 75hp usually are no longer made in the states, I looked into JD, CNH, Mahindra, Kubota ext all made out of the states. But all the new tractors I saw had American rubber on them including all the Mahindra's, I found that interesting.

Some clarification; the eMax and the 25xx series compacts are made in Korea. The Max and the 15xx series are built in Japan, and except for the 1533/38, they use the Mitsubishi engine. You also mentioned regarding the 2013 Max28 that the FEL was made in Japan, and that is incorrect. We source no loaders from Japan. They are USA or Korean origin, depending on the model. The single tilt piston loader on the eMax was indeed Korean built, you are correct on that.

I see you have a 4320 JD. I've always liked that model.

So much of this is about shipping, as you mentioned. Tractors coming from Japan are tightly packed and crated. 25 Max26's come in a 40' container! There is room for 26, but the container gets too heavy for the truckers who move the containers from port to the DC. These are bolted to steel frames and tightly packed and generally have zero damage on them. Tires then come to the DC in a 53' dry van, normally stacked floor to ceiling, and one van of tires will handle several containers of tractors. Then loaders arrive in a van or container, packed in an optimized manner for maximum shipping in minimum space while keeping them apart enough to not get damage. Batteries then get delivered on pallets. Seats come in LTL in big boxes. It's a lot of logistics to keep the right amount and right size of tires/seats/batteries/loaders in stock for all the different models.

As for the comment about manufacturing in the USA, I agree. We need more of it. I think the incoming administration is pretty determined to make it more costly to import and cheaper to export. That might be a negative for tractor dealers that by and large import most of what we sell, but it would be worth it if it eventually cranks up our USA manufacturing centers. I'd sure like to see a bunch of Mahindra tractors actually manufactured here in the USA.

Thanks Dave this is helpful. Dad and I went and looked at a model 2015 last night. Unfortunately it had a oil leak that neither we or the guy selling could tell the origin of so we passed on it. Dad liked it though. Good to know if we found another without a MMM that you have one.

Search will continue.

Where was the oil leak? Mine looked like a major leak under the seat and left rear. Turns out it was fuel spillage! The seller needed to know that answer as I used it to negotiate.
