Where is "Pats" Quality Control Thread

I noticed that thread was CLOSED. Why is that? I think it was a great thread that everyone should be interested in contributing. That is one reason I joined this forum - to find out about equipment quality.
We learned that Pat makes one very good devise and one that appears to be not so good. He makes the two to sell the "not so good" devise for $20 cheaper. I bet if most people knew the $20 less expensive devise was inferior to the "very good" devise that $20 savings would not be enough to persuade them to buy it.
However, I can see how the manufacturer could dupe buyers into thinking they were getting the "very good" devise on sale for $20 cheaper. The names are very similar and unless you saw the two side-by-side you probably wouldn't know they were different. See picture below. The devise on the left is "not so good" the one on the right is "very good".
Sounds like a very sneaky sales gimmick that was uncovered on this forum.

Pat's is a sponsor of the site and the thread was locked...Coincidence??? There was a little religious talk in the thread, but if the posts were offending then the posts should have been removed. I hope the thread wasn't locked due to his sponsorship of TBN, but it sure looks that way to me.

Just MHO, but I think the hitch thread pretty much got beat to death.
We all know now that there are two versions etc etc. All depends on how you want to spend 20 bucks I guess.

Being a quick change guy I thought I had better look in the mirror to make sure and by golly......I am a Wimp! I am so ashamed.

Religion is not a topic allowed here on TBN. I think that is for very good reason. The discussion about the two versions was well covered with no new info. I cannot see how it would have been valuable to allow it to continue. I also didn't see all the posts, just what was left. There may have been more but, does it really matter?
BTW, the two versions also have an additional difference, the lower cost unit includes the spacer bar, thus saving more $.
I also think believing in some sponsorship conspiracy theory to be a little far fetched.

IMHO, the the thread was properly closed... it started going to unproductive and not allowed topics... getting uncomfortable and personal.

To expect an edit is not realistic... requires too much time and is still subject to human judgment... best to just cease the whole thing.

Germane to the topic, we learned that Pat has strongly stood by his product and done right by his customers on innumerable occasions. It is a quality product and he's a quality guy trying to meet market forces and demands many of which are beyond his control.

There are two products of different design/manufacture and features at two prices... not so strange.

That L2800 in your signature wouldn't be one of those "wimpy" non geared hydrostatic types, now would it? I have to agree with you though. real men just wrestle those implements on, especially those 400 pound box blades. But then again, real men don't even use a tractor, right? Just hitch up the mule.

I'm sure you'll find some where in the terms 'n conditions of membership, that theres a bunch of stuff not permitted in the forum. Rightly so too. But whoever DELETED the thread made a mistake IMO. There was good info there. To delete the whole lot because of a few religous posts was lazy way to make things right in his/her mind.
I'm a moderator on other forums and it is very easy to edit anyones posts whenever you have to. To go in and delete the offending bits takes only seconds of your time. I would only delete whole threads if there is offensive language, elevated levels of arguing, or absolutely no productive content in the thread... Unless I missed something? I only saw 3 posts with religous references, did things get a lot worse afterwards?
Who ever deleted the thread felt compelled to chose the "delete entire thread" button instead... Unless Pat asked them to?

Then all you conspiracy theorists can wax lyrical....

TBN dont want to loose Pats sponsorship? Fair enough... Did you see how many people stood up and defended pats product in the thread? Made me want to go out and buy one right there..... Pat came in too, stood up for his product and explained his reasons... Makes his an upstanding guy in my books.

If it were for religious means I would thing they could or should have removed what was 'offensive no, the thread remains in its entirety with no explanation why. Only for us to assume.
I find this use of power to be offensive.But it is ''their'' forum.
By not giving a reason or removing the language,We the members who make up the forum are left to wonder and assume.

Well yes, I do have a HST transmixer. It takes a man to press that pedal back and forth all day.

It isn't hard to see why that thread was closed. When members resort to name calling, religion or politics then threads are closed. That thread had name calling and religion so its fate was sealed. And it is easier for the moderators to just lock the thread then to try and delete individual post and hope no one else carries on. Just lock the thread and the discussion is over till someone starts a new thread complaining about the other thread
