where do you store your tractor - inside or out?

I see some of you guys have carports more or less for cover with no sides or ends. I sure hope you have those poles rooted to the bowls of Hades and some serious roof reinforcement going on. I have seen those things turned into pretzels in winds not near hurricane strength. It's a good idea to make sure you locate structures like that in a protected area or in a stand of trees. Even those Winter howlers in the winter can be brutal when it can get inside the building and lift.

I like to keep all my stuff covered. For now my Kioti sleeps in this garage. I am planning to build a 42' X 72' foot barn. I hope it happens this year but not sure.

Yeah.

I can advise that the Harbor Freight 20 x 20 Tarp Shed is useless. I had it anchored well enough but wind bent the frame and dislodged the purlins. (the cross-pieces halfway down the rafters). HF no longer sells this model. For obvious reasons.

Concur on the bent portable garages - same thing happened with mine. Total waste of time and money. I ended up building a double carport that has managed to survive pretty bad windstorms to date.
My tractor sometimes sits parked under the carport if I don't feel the need to put it in the workshop. It just squeezes under with a couple of inches to spare (5" actually). That makes it handy to use first thing.

The heavy duty, expensive, ones do very well but you really need to anchor them well and keep them in the trees. Of course by the time you pay that much you might as well just build a good one and be done. One big advantage though with these is in places like NY where they absolutely rape you on property taxes. They can't charge you on those as they aren't permanent. Those things do have their place though, just not out in the open. The HF and Chinese tool store ones are a waste of time. Better to get hd plastic tarps and some bungee cords

Most of my equipment is outside parked under lean-to's that are in various stages of age and disrepair. None have ever seen conditioned storage or parking. When service calls they must think they went to machine heaven because the dealers work space is so nice.

Yeah, I have done field repairs once or twice. That must have confused them even more.

Poor things. Even the dogs get better treatment.
