where do you put the throttle on your tractor?

DK50SE HST ... Driving, about 1500. Working, usually 1800 or so. I don't think I've ever put it above 2100. I just figure, why run it harder than necessary?

Since my X740 is hydrostatic, I run the machine at 3/4 throttle for driving around, about 85% throttle for blade work, to keep hydraulic speed and power up. When I am mowing I use max RPM's to get the maximum amount of speed out of my mower deck.

These hydrostatic systems don't sound that great when they are at low RPM working, they growl quite a bit. I figure for the little bit of extra fuel I use at a higher RPM, the easier things are for the hydro pump.
