Where do you park/store your tractor?

Most of mine are kept in a 50x100 Morton building with dirt floor.

In the picture, if you look close, you should be able to make out a 1948 Case VAC, 1949 John Deere A, 1947 Farmall H, 1960 John Deere 730 Diesel, and the newest addition, a 1980ish Yanmar 1700. The Case will be tough as it's way in the back. You can see it's steering wheel over the H's right rear tire. The 2 Case 970's have cabs, so they live outside unfortunately.

I live next door to my MIL, and my FIL was a grain farmer, so he had this probably at least 60' x 120' barn that I store my tractors in. I honestly don't know the exact dimensions, but it's huge. My FIL passed away in 2020, so I maintain everything. My wife's sister and BIL are two hours away.

It has been 5 years since my FIL passed, and I still feel like I'm just borrowing his barn. I don't know that that will ever change. I don't take it for granted and feel a little undeserving. But I do take care of my MIL and all the equipment needed to maintain the land she now rents out, so it is a win-win. He knew this day would come, and he would always say, you will pay us back someday.

I no longer have the Massey in the background or the Case in the foreground. Both our tractors are now Yanmars. This pic is probably a year and a half old. We do have the JD 3010, which is my wife's. She planted beans on it as a kid, and she would get rid of me before she would do that.

I keep my little boy tractor in a 10x16 shed. Some of the attachments are kept in a 10x12. Still, the 10x16 is too tight and this spring I'm upgrading to a 12x18 or 12x20 (I'm limited by the placement area). Pics attached of my two sheds. Brown is the 10x16 and red is the 10x12.

I kept my B2620 since 2006, mostly in a garage or lean-too with gravel floor. So far no signs of rust.

I keep mine in a heated and air-conditioned ca.1775 carriage barn.

j/k... it spends most nights in the unheated shed 'round back. :D

I have an 40’ x 50’ installed steel shed

Nice, new, shiny JD there - your bucket cutting-edge bolts look a bit on the long side tho.

Built this shed for the L4240. This was before I retired and although it wasn't a big project, it took a while to draw it up, gather materials and get 'er done. The tractor spent almost a year in my BIL's barn next door keeping his L4740 company.

When not in use, I park my tractor in a carport with a gravel floor. It's a Kubota B2320 that I bought new in 2014. I am starting to notice quite a bit of rust on the tractor and am wondering if this is normal for being storing on a dirt floor, or has Kubota paint quality gone downhill.

Would love to hear how you all store your tractors and your issues & solutions to rusting or preventing rust.
Mine was kept in a heated garage, during the warmer weather, a dehumidifier was on, drain line to outside - when the tractor came in wet the dehumidifier eliminated the moisture preventing rust on the tools and other equipment - I would shut the dehumidifier off when outside temperatures were well below freezing as heat alone eliminated the moisture....

Bought my JD-770 when it was a year old in '98 and had my 36x48 shop finally finished about the same time. It was uninsulated and unheated but had a cement floor. It did rain inside more often than not it seemed sometimes. I could actually see the drops on the tractor. In the PNW you will get condensation inside or out. The JD still looks new.

I did finally get the shop insulated a few years ago about the time I got my LS but they both pretty much stay outside in the summer now just because I ran out of room and with the wife wanting the JD or the LS I usually have to pull them both out any way. If I know I won't need them and it's going to rain for a bit then I will put them inside.

It's funny my 19 yr old JD riding mower had rusted at about the 2 year mark and now the base is completely rusted. The plastic hood is the only green on it. Turns out the box store version (eg Lowes) is not the same as the ones in the JD store.

I do try to wax them once a year and rinse or wash them maybe a couple times a year depending how bad they get. I have always tried to keep my cars/trucks/equipment up, inside and out.

My brother-in-law has a Mahindra he bought, it's got to be close to 20 years ago. Always parked outside (kills me!) and little/no rust, although it's more pink-ish than red now...
