I'm gonna be watching this one, I carry my 10/22 just across my lap or nose down on floor board while I hold it. I've laid it on my gloves on the cowl too but too easy to fall off. Lost the phone that way last summer luckily the Log that I drug over it pushed it to the top and I managed to find it, samsung convoy mil spec still was fine if not grubbed dirt into every cranny...

Wow lot of 1911's around here. My chosen poisen as well. I run an IWB leather holster if I'm off my property for whatever reason or a bravo concealment RTT holster for other times.
I tried a shotgun several times and also left said shotgun on the tractor a few nights so I gave that up.

Most of the time I use a hip holster with a round in the chamber that is like buck shot in 9mm. It only took me one time to learn about Murphy's Law not having a weapon with me.

Carry a snub-nose .357 either in toolbox or IWB. Gets a little dusty sometimes if I am bushhogging, but this is my farm duty pistol so no biggy. Sometimes I switch to my 1911 carried IWB if I am not using the rotary mower.

Used to carry a 1911, but about a year ago I picked up a Beretta 92FS and had a major flashback to my days in the Corps. I closed my eyes and field-stripped/reassembled it like it had been yesterday when I last did that instead of 25 years ago. Shot expert with its bigger brother every year I served. Now I carry the Beretta on my hip (since I dismount a lot).

There's a lot to be said for absolute familiarity with a weapon...

Glock 19 in a Crossbreed Supertuck right side about 3:30 just like every other day, no matter what I am doing. It is safe to assume that if I have pants on I have my G19 as well.

I'm a righty, so carry a double barrel over under sideways in between my upper and lower jaw facing east to west with a limited edition S&W, Sig Haur, 9mm, leather bound kevlar encased, 999 round, jacketed, teflon coated, unobtitanium covered radioactive shells, with fast reloading laser guided missle silo tested and FDA certified angus beef tipped rounds. Never miss a chance to whip it out and show the ratz and women folks whoze carring whadt! Know whadt I'm talking bout.
