Hi, I'm new here, don't know if I am doing this right. I just purchased a 2010 tractor with loader, (Not a JD loader, not sure what kind). It has a Gresen 2712 hydraulic valve. When I tilt the bucket, the lift cylinders start going down. It doesn't matter at what height I have the loader. Only does it when I am tilting the bucket up, not down. My question is this, is this normal for this Gresen valve? Or is it bleeding across? Thanks for any help!

My first guess is maybe the hoses, loader to tractor are not connected correctly.
My second guess is the are hose quick coupler(s) not seated/correctly connected.

No. It's not normal for any loader or valve. Usually it is hoses or connections. It could also be the valve. But whichever it is, It isn't normal and fairly easy to fix.
Gresen 2712 is a universal control valve, not a JD part. So even if that is the problem, it is simple.

Checked hoses and connections. All are correct and tight. No quick couplers to worry about. I guess maybe I need to replace the valve.

Does that valve have single joy stick it two levers one for each function?

Just curious if joystick could some thing be moving both spools a little when tilting the bucket.

Another possibility: I could not find any parts breakdown on the Gresen valve but if there are two separate load checks for each spool one of them could be leaking.

I would guess load checks also providing it has them.
