Shibaura SL 1603
Am fixin' to take delivery on a Shibaura SL1603 in a week . The fella at the sales yard told me that some rear weight might help some . The tractor specs out at about 1350# . By butt brings it up by 190 pounds . I have several avenues to go down . One is to put some weight behind the seat above the PTO or figure how to put some weight on the wheels where , as I understand , it belongs . My first question is "How much weight will I need "? I'm just moving dirt on my property in AZ . I'm not in a real hurry so if I can get the loader only half full ... that's cool . I don't think , after reading "the adventures of other guys" that I want to mess with the calcium chloride route . I would think that cold steel properly placed will help a bunch . Thank you in advance for your help in this matter .

Here are mine. I made them about 5 years ago and they have worked real well. They were about half price or less than factory.

I have put a box blade on the 3 point and added weight to it. The box blade comes in handy sometimes when moving dirt also.
