So, it's become evident that I need to purchase some wheel spacers to install chains on the B2601.

Searches bring up a variety of brands: Bora, Bro-Teck, Stahl, Tracks Company. Made out of either aluminum or steel.

So, what are your recommendations and experiences?

Thanks.

I got Bro-Tek for my Kioti DK35 front to make room for chains. Very good to deal with and quick service. I sent an inquiry to one other supplier in the US but did not receive a reply.

For my BX, I went BroTek. Quality machined Aluminum 6016. Make sure you research the widths compatible with MMM if you have one. I don't but went with 2in rears and 1.23in fronts has worked out beautifully for me so far. I keep it in 4WD 99% of the time but I'm on unpaved, and sometimes rough terrain most of the time.

I put 2 1/2" aluminum spacers made by Motorsport on my Kubota B2601. Night and day difference as far as stability. I went with 2 1/2" to keep the rear wheels in the same track as the 54" MMM.

I went with bro tek for my BX, increased stability in the mountains, but I did suffer a cracked front hub with one month of putting them on, may have been a fluke in the casting, but I do feel it puts additional leverage on the hub when the loader is loaded down. I don't load it as much now, and just make an extra trip to and from.. I went with the shortest ones at the time.. a few years back.. 1.5, or 1.25"

I have the 1.25in on my fronts and have beat the heck out of my BX with them on. Fully loaded bucket or more lifting the rears off the ground trying to dislodge debris from a clearing pile, etc. Only thing I have been damaging are the boots on the linkage. I'm thinking you were just unlucky. Maybe a flaw in the casting. Quick, where's the wood to knock on?

I built mine out of 0.25 steel plate and two 4" long pieces of 8" Sch. 40 steel pipe for a pair of 4.5" spacers. Made a template for the plates from the wheel holes and took it and the stock to a local machine shop. Made the diameter of the plates 0.5 wider than the pipe to give me a flange for a nice welding joint. I did everything but machining the 4 plates. Stock was about $40 and machine time was $100. In attaching the plates to the pipe, ensure that the holes are lined up so that the shaft extension for the impact tool can stick through the outer hole to get to the socket on the inside bolts securing the spacer to the axle flange.

Note: I had to use decimals as there is some kind of error in uploading if I use fractions.....sorry about that.
