Wheel Spacer 27-2910

I finally found some spacers for my 2910 rear wheels. This will allow me to put rear chains on. The 8200 spacers are the ones needed. They are 1 3/8" thick. Found them at a <font color=orange>Kubota </font color=orange>dealer outside of Toronto. Having to do some traveling in my job does have a good point sometimes. I tried to find original thread about this discussion. But can't remember what the heading was.
I also found a good use for Kubota.ca site. Typing in the postal code will allow you to find a dealer up to 500 mile away from your location. Try that with <font color=orange>Kubota </font color=orange>America. You will only get local dealers within 25 miles. I hope this impresses Woodstock. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
I have attached a picture of spacer in case someone is looking for them. Dealer had them setting on a shelf in the back of their shop. Only the owner new where they were. They do have another set on shelf. Price was good too. $95.00 Canadian.

Ron, that's interesting.

One of the things I'm thinking of doing to give myself a better survival rate in my mucky land is to put bigger and more aggressive tires on my 2910 than the R4s I have. There seems to be a fair amount of vertical room under the fenders but almost no horizontal room.

Those spacers are probably what I would need to go to a wider tire. Do you see any reason why you couldnt install two spacers next to each other to give even more space? Do you know the manufacturer and part # of the spacer?

I had a number. Can't find it anymore. I think it was L1011. These spacers were made by a vendor for <font color=orange>Kubota </font color=orange>. I posted the picture as a guide for making a set. That dealer does have another set. Just don't how to get them to you.
Putting wider tires may help with getting stuck. My turf tires are wider than your R-4's. But do not offer more traction. Ag tires are the best tires for traction. Getting stuck would be less of a problem with dual mounted rear tires. I believe Carver sells a dual mount. I also saw a post from someone that gave a site that makes special dual tire setups.
If you could compete the acquisition of Marks tractor. You could use it to pull your 2910 out every time it gets stuck. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Hi Ron,

I may have been the guy that's talked about wheel spacers for the 27-2910. It's coming up on 7 months now that I've been waiting on my dealer to get me a set! I talked to them yesterday and they're STILL waiting and are supposedly trying to get me an answer. They also now have another 5-6 customers that need them. Consider yourself lucky that you found some! Kubota has really dropped the ball on this issue because they still aren't making them and/or haven't made arrangements with a supplier to do the same. The ones that are supposedly being "custom made" for me should only be 5/8" thick which is all that's needed for snow chain clearance. Unfortunately, 1 3/8" would probably make the rear end of my tractor wider than (or pretty close to!) 60" which is the width of all my implements. I'm still urging all 27-2910 owners with R4 tires (and maybe turfs) that want to run chains this winter to act now! You may have a long wait.

I would really appreciate the US part number for the spacers for a 2910. My dealership cannot find anything under the number "L1011" and suggested it may be a Canadian number. The dealership also questioned if the the spacers were actually Kubota parts or Kubota authorized. I would like to order a set. Thanks in advance.

Hi Rick,

I think your experience confirms what my dealer says and what I've tried to convey to 27-2910 owners here on TBN. Kubota does not make or have a supplier for wheel spacers for our tractors. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif My dealer claims that Kubota Corp. wants to contract with the same place that's "custom making" my set so they can make them available to everyone but I have no confidence that this will happen anytime soon. I believe Ron got very lucky by finding some old stock for a discontinued model of tractor. Again, according to my dealer, the 27-2910 tractors use the same rear end as an older model tractor but Kubota stopped carrying wheel spacers when that tractor was dropped from production.

If you do a search with my user name, "DaveM" and enter "wheel spacers" I think you'll find all my previous posts in regard to this issue.

Also, like Rick, if anyone knows of a source for 5/8" spacers for our rigs please post the details!

I just talked to my dealer. Him and I did some research last fall on the spacers originally made for B8200 tractors. He will look up the information that we came up with and send it to me. These spacers were made by a Kubota authorized supplier. They still do business with them. I'll write back when I get the information.

I have a 2910 with R4's and rear chains which I bought from
Carver. They test-fitted the chains before shipping the
tractor and said there was no problem with clearance.
Is there a clearance problem with R4's I don't know about?
Maybe only with some manufacturers of chains?

Guess I better test fit the chains myself before the snows fly.

I have turf tires on my tractor. There is not enough room for chains to clear bolts holding fenders together. I think there was a post about R-4s having about 1 3/4" clearance. My chains would clear with that amount of clearance and tensioners to keep chains tight.

If they're like my chains, a box pattern from Peerless Chain Co., you'll probably find that the chain clasps on the inside of the tire just slightly rubs the inside of the fenders. I only drove about 200 yards with mine and the clasp rubbed the paint off down to the primer. I'm sure I would have reached the metal in no time at all! Look here for a photo.
