whats your winter prediction

well what will it be and why? harsh sub zero, lots of snow, freezing rain. or very mild, with a touch of frost? post your predictions and why you think it will be that way.

Given that we've had one of the hottest and driest summers on record here in Upstate NY and the fact that the pros are forecasting a mild winter, I'm confident it'll be brutally cold with record snow falls.

I'm afraid we're in for several solid months of cursing, simply because it's winter and while I love watching it out the window, I hate being out in it, whether it's snow, damp, mud, ice or rain. %$@&*!!! !

One thing I am absolutely certain on:

I will turn my attitude from feeling sorry for those in FLA, TX, CA, etc., for thier exposure to excessive heat, wild fires, rain, tornados, drought, to feeling envious. For example, reading about Birds' first tilling while I am buried in snow is pure torture and is something I will always remember.

And, I am certain the envy is coming quick.

This year is the first I ever remember seeing white caterpillars...

So my mind wonders if they are not predicting a lot of snow...

Mother nature has been very good the past few winters here in the Northeast...

But this season... she's gonna give us a reminder of what winter is all about, so I can test my Rotella synthetic oil in my Deere, and the synthetic blend in the wife's Honda...

Give us snowfalls spread out so we can make some $$$ plowing and some more snow for more $$$ from plowing...

Then come spring... spend those $$$ at the first auctions for all that good stuff and junk nobody else wants... and that I don't need but will buy anyways... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Well, I bought a new tractor with plow last winter, so it didn't snow. This year, I think I might buy snow tires for my van for the first time in 17 years, so that might stop the snow again /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif
