2011 Kioti DK45SE HST
I bought 48 acres in Kentucky, my dream property, 4 years ago. There are some rolling hills, some steep hills and about 15 acres of woods. I do not live on my "farm" but I do long for the day when I have a cabin built. I have a perfect spot picked perched on a hill overlooking nearly half of the property. I bought my Kioti tractor to keep the land groomed and to give me an excuse to be on my farm. dde04 I have a small pole barn and now have electric. Next year I hope to have a half-acre pond created for additional recreation and family fun (and of course fishing eventually). I have been very pleased with my DK45SE HST. Admittedly I hadn't heard of Kioti until I was in the market for a tractor. I decided to go with Kioti for three main reasons: 1) there is a local dealer 15 minutes from my house that is terrific and they have been in business for 30 years selling Kubota then Kioti (exclusively Kioti these days), 2) I could not find more tractor for the money and I REALLY REALLY tried and 3) I think they are good looking machines. Sure, you can see the Kubota influence/lineage but the tractor stands on its own quite nicely. That said, I have not seen one in any fields along the 45 mile stretch from my home to my farm. This doesn't bother me, but I am surprised that I have not seen at least one, as the dealer moves quite a few tractors every year. What is your story? Why do you own a tractor and if it's a Kioti why did YOU choose it over the JD, Kubota, etc.?

As you can see by my pics I am not brand loyal.I bought my Kioti DK40hst because of the price point, dependability and build quality.Oh I forgot my Kioti dealer Michigan Iron and Equipment whom I am lucky enough to have as my local dealer who offers outstanding sales and service.Enough said.

You have a very nice assortment of equipment coobie: a machine for just about everything. :)

For a number of years used an old 9N to brush hog and blade snow. Seems to spend as much time getting the 9N to run as I did using it. Finally said enough is enough and decided to buy a new tractor with an FEL. Narrowed it down to Kubota and Kioti. Both were great tractors but just felt Kioti was the better value. Like a lot of folks I started off with one size in mind (CK30) but ultimately convinced myself to spend a little more and go with something a bit bigger, just in case. No regrets.iimage.jpgimage.jpg

I was tired of freezing on the open platform NH and wanted to haul 1200# round bales, till gardens, with a small capable tractor. Found my DK 45 SE at my NH dealer, little did I know that the NH dealer closed two weeks after the purchase. I think the NH/Ford dealer had been in business over 50 years.

I think these are tough times for tractor dealers.

I had a Cub Cadet 3000 series garden tractor that I tried to use as a sub-compact. Since the machine had a hydraulic system, I was able to attach a front bucket, angle blade, and snow blower. Unfortunately the hydraulic system wasn't much use beyond raising the deck and providing power steering. As a result I was constantly replacing o-rings in the hydraulic system. In the rare event that the hydraulic system didn't fail, I was breaking welds and axles. After 10 years, enough was enough - time for a machine designed to handle the abuse I was dishing out.

I shopped all of the major brands of CUT's and SCUTS, determined to get a TLB/MMM/Snow Blower that would be up to the task. I did hear the common advice "get a bigger tractor than you think you think you need because they shrink when you get 'em home", but I had a good handle on what I wanted out of the machine. In the end I was considering the Mahindra eMax25 & Max25, Kubota BX25D & the CS2410. I also gave consideration to the CK series, but having to remove the MMM to attach the BH was a show stopper.

So far I'm very pleased and impressed with the CS series. It's done everything I've asked of it and I haven't found its limits yet. It's cuts a perfect lawn, lifts it's advertised weight, digs holes like a bored dog...and it's economical to operate. My dealer (Kollmer in Flemington NJ) has been outstanding - and I think that's half of the calculus when deciding what to buy.

When I got my 6 acres I realized I needed a tractor (never had one). So I found TBN to help me out. Rented a BX25D for a weekend. Really liked it. As others have said, TBNers often say to buy bigger, it shrinks when you get it home. Also found I prefer 3 speed ranges over 2 speed ranges. No Mahindra, LS, Massey or TYM dealers, so those I reluctantly took off the list. Finally came down to just really liking the Kioti.

Turns out I'm lucky I didn't go any bigger. My CK27 w/backhoe just barely fits in my garage! Just inches to spare.

I grew up on a small dairy farm in Mass. and drove our two fords. Never got to drive the international. I learned to drive on an old willys jeep going up and down the driveway, learning the standard with my older brother telling me what to do. After college it was a stables and another old ford and a newish Massey. There was a long drought after that- 20 years and moving to Maine. I was given a 48 Farmall Cub that I cleaned up (oil like tar). I used that for everything. The clutch went and it sat until I sold it for cheap to a guy down the road who was buying it to fix up for his son in law. He picked it up with his kubota pulling a trailer. When my electric winch snow plow on my truck went on the fritz for the third time one winter, I started shopping and almost bought a new LS 3039. At the last minute I found a used TC30 and bought that instead. Never a regret. Tractors are great- get more done than without one. - very useful on our 19 acres of fields and woods. Lately I use it and the fel to lower and raise the hay conveyor up and down from the hay door in the barn.
