I'll give you a hint, 50 mph winds here today.

well you probably guessed right, Somehow the wind picked up the shelter that was staked down on all 4 corners with 2' re bar on a 45 deg angle and clamped to frame and tightened with a impact wrench, and placed it about 30' from where it was. It actually turned 180 deg and never flipped over. Its like a crane picked it up, spun it 180deg and sat it down by the woods. I only found one dime size hole it. Now I have to take it apart, move it and reassemble it where it was, then get some 3' re bar for new anchors, probable 6 or 8 this time.
Well I know what Im doing tomorrow
btw did you notice it didnt even knock over the bicycles when it took flight, go figure!

Just drive the tractor under it and use the loader to lift it and move it.

Here I am looking at the photo thinking, wow all his stuff is neatly piled together, now he just needs a nice carpor.... holy crap it was thrown into the woods!

Glad there wasn't anymore damage, looks like you lucked out a little.

The ground doesn't look too good for driving the tractor over to move it but I had a carport the same size and with four adult men (1 on each corner), we were able to pick it up and move it about 100ft to the backyard. They're pretty light.

I've been kinda expecting same sight. I got a metal carport a couple years ago with sides,no ends. They put it up and used rebar with nuts welded on ends to secure it,maybe 6 per side down through the holes in bottom of frame.
I knew that setup wouldn't hold,so cemented each corner with about 150 lbs of cement into which I put a 3/4 all thread rod with nut and washer on hole end and welded other end to up right of frame on each corner,so far,so good.

I just went out there and placed the bucket on one corner of the frame and temp staked 2 other corners. It started creeping up the tree, so I pulled it back some. Winds arnt going to get any better tonight or tomorrow so I will have to hope and wait it out till then. i should be able to lift it like you said with 4 guys but that probable wont happen till Saturday after the winds stop. if we try to move it now we will all likely blow away like a kite.

Wind was terrible here today as well. Even blew the velcro open on the neighbors grill cover, allowing it to be blown down the hill.

I got the same thing, a 20 x 26' metal with no sides and ends (read:sail), and after an executive-level fiscal decision, decided to pay $30/per for 6 screw-in auger anchors. Drilled them into solid clay - it's not going anywhere. My discount tarp side and end, however, were rendered mercilessly during the last 40+mph winds.

Ken - It is amazing that it landed the way it did.....and that you'd show us a picture revealing a green 4x4 pull-wagon as one of your tractor attachments. The huggable trees probably saved the day, breaking the wind pattern that lifted the carport in the first place. I'm sure that's what Island was referring to.

Did the kids want to "camp out" in it?
