Sorry, I knew that. I was trying to make the same point you just did. I mentioned just 2 of trhe myriad scam-mails which are circulating through the internet.
Anytime something sounds fishy, I run it through the Hoaxbuster site to check it out. Many of the scams and tall tales are much older than the PC as we know it; yet people still will fall for it.

I bought my kubota on ebay, all went well. It is an older model,at a price I could afford. I think ebay is a good place to look if you want an older tractor. I searched locally for weeks and never found anything. I still look at the ebay ads for kubotas, and the scams are there. I would not bid on anything I could not go to inspect. To the original poster, if you want to get rid of your visitor status and be a member, send a PM to the administrator. Same thing happened to me, I registered back in 04, but never posted until recently.

MikePA: Cleaned up long URL. Please review your message before posting it. It's simple not to do this. Just insert a descriptive word or two between the {url=http://whatever}<font color="red">Enter words here</font>{/url} instead of the entire URL. Replace parentheses {} with square brackets in previous example.
Alternatively, if you use the Instant Markup language URL link, the first prompt is for the URL. The second prompt is for a description. Do not simply paste in the URL again. Type a short description of the link.

The problem is that people do not realize that E-bay is nothing more than a way to match up buyer and seller. It is in many respects no different than a classified ad in a newspaper with the exception that the ebay method of selling/auctioning provides feeling of legitimacy that you don't get from a three line classified (paypal does not help - it further promotes the air of legitimacy while doing nothing to prevent fraud
Maybe I'm old - but I would not buy anything on ebay sight unseen unless I could check out the legitimacy of the seller. I have bought stuff on ebay - in every case it was either from a vendors that could be checked out (i.e. e-stores having a legit brick and mortar location) or from private individuals for which I paid when I went to pick up the merchandise.
Anyways thanks for the interesting find - I wish ebay would be a bit more responsible with the way that they sell/maintain their service.
