What's wrong with Canadians?

If I am going to be out in it, the “Real Feel” does matter. If it is 19F, with no wind, and clear skies, it really does feel like it is near the mid to high thirties in the sun, if being a little active. Now step behind something, into the shade and stand still, and it rapidly begins to feel like the actual 19F it is.

When you’re figuring out how many layers of what you want to put on before you go out, it is nice to know both. And, maybe dress for the warmer, and carry a jacket for the cooler.
I look at temps, estimated wind, and precipitation. I guess you could say that I process my own "feels like"...

I guess you know, my brain won't be satisfied until I try to write out the names of the fifty states.
It took many trys for me to get all fifty states on my list. The only I state that would come into my head for a long time was Illinois.

That's still pretty good.

I was able to name all 254 Texas counties and identify most of the county seats when I was in high school.

I could still get most if I had a map to look at.

Wow. I don't think I could correctly place more than about 10 and only a few county seats. I didn't grow up here, but I am technically qualified to teach Texas history. Check. I cannot even correctly place all of the 66 counties in my home state of SD. Though I could probably get quite a few.

States and capitals, not a problem. I could do pretty well on countries and capitals as well, the tough ones for me are those that changed since HS.

I haven't looked over the provinces of Canada or their capitals in years, but I am sure I could get at least 70% of them. Hopefully, I can convince my better half to get up to the Great White North. Despite having been just a few feet from the border, (in multiple states/provinces) I have never stepped foot in Canada. When I do, I am more likely to have a Moosehead than a Molson. Though I would likely enjoy Unibroue Trois Pistoles better.

Absolutely. A technique used by all living things on this planet that have contact with the outdoors. I can watch the birds and Deer around me and get an indication of what's coming. :)

My wife and I drove from Detroit to our home here in Southwestern NY during the storm of 1976. Then sometime in the 1990's I think we started to hear on TV that the "Storm of the Century was coming" and that quote was repeated for at least 15 seasons. We're still waiting!! The sensationalizing of the weather/news has caused us to not watch any of that. We have an indoor/outdoor weather station which we would not want to be without. However, I have been thinking of the highly accurate 'Donkey tail string' weather station to tell me if it is raining, windy, or cold outside.

I’m too cheap to buy a piece of rope. Instead I send my dog outside... if he comes in wet, it’s raining. If he won’t go out, it’s cold. If I have to drive down to the next town to get him, the wind is blowing a gale.

Lately our news media has embraced "what it feels like" temperatures instead of reporting the "thermometer temperature"
Yup, I noticed that also. Just tell me the actual temp first, as an add-on you can tell me the feel like temp if you want...............Mike

What I found odd; last Saturday's forecast from NOAA was cold and windy, with gusts of over 20 mph. Sunday temps were predicted to be higher, but with less wind. Yet the wind chill temp for both days were the same. I may not have a degree in meteorology, and math was always my worst subject; yet even I know that doesn't make sense.

Wind chill refers to the heat leaving a warm blooded animal. Machines don't get frostbite. -30, deep in the bush, without wind isn't too bad. The same temp out in the open with a 30 mph wind will be almost unbearable. Takes your breath away, will freeze unprotected skin in minutes.

Some folks just don't care for erotic dancing...personal values and no need to criticize...
Now me, a 10 year Navy vet and 100% pervert...I loved strip clubs back in the day
Of course, I'll probably go to Hell when I pass on...
:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
One thing I always liked about Canadian strip clubs was, they leave nothing to the imagination up there, unlike here.

Do Canadian's still call a 12 pack a case of beer? Down here in the sagebrush of Wyoming, a case is 24.

Yup, least I do, a case is 12, a flat is 24.....after that, you don't give a crap what you call it :).........Mike

Nope ...a case of beer is 24 up here , at least by the older gang of us that have had enough beer experience. ; ) (12 is a girl's "case" )
And a six pack is a waste of packaging material. :)

What do you drink up there, Jake?

Sleemans , or Molson Canadian, they discontinued my favorite Molson products years ago ( Molson Export and Molson Golden)

I call a 24 pack a case of beer. If I ever wanted a 12 pack I would ask for a dozen.

I know what is wrong with Canadians! Our case (24) of beer costs $49 and we still buy it.

BTW, my beer of choice is Budweiser. So maybe I'm not a true Canadian. :)
