I have been raising our own beef for over 50 years . . . ;)

on edit: we (my family) raised beef too so you can add another 20 or so years.
We get 2 steer calf’s every 2-3 years, raise them to 1200 pounds, then take the to the packer. We sell one and keep one. Fantastic tasting beef.

Funny thing, the higher grade syrup is light, runny, and has less flavor. The so called darker grades taste a lot better to me.
I will go without syrup on my pancakes before I'll use fake maple syrup. A little butter and strawberry jam makes a nice substitute though.
I grow raspberries. We freeze them, then periodically take out a few pounds to make raspberry syrup. It’s either real maple or raspberry syrup for me.

I grew eating pancakes with maple syrup and thats the way I usually prefer to eat them. When I offered maple syrup to my four year old granddaughter, she turned it down for the kind made from corn syrup, water and sugar that she was used to. There's probably some great psychological truth to be learned from that, but I'm not up to figuring it out.
