i think this has been discussed before, the air cleaner bracket breaking.

Ever time i start My BX i raise the hood to see if mine broke yet , Its still in one piece with over 400 hours on the clock. Now i will use it tommorrow eve and it will be broken. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, friday the 13, but im not supperstitous /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

This is one thread that mention it. Bx 1500 engine roll ?
I know that there was another, but can't seem to find it. It was as recent as within the last 6 - 8 weeks.
Just checked my bracket (BX23) 30 hours no sign of breaking yet.

Just looked at your attachment. Looks like you have a different style bracket than my BX23. Mine is the kind that has a bolt on top of the filter housing to hold an tighten the bracket. Maybe this was a kubota fix, just got my BX 4 weeks ago..
The other thread I mentioned but could not find, I remember one of the responses as using a leather strap to replace the metal one.

I called kubota, they are sending for a new one, Mine snapped while I was sliding the air filter out of the housing, Wonder if I outta cut up one of my shrinking belts

The remedy that I have found is to leave the two air cleaner to engine mounting bolts a little loose. I set them with Loctite and they have never vibrated loose and neither has my air cleaner bracket broken. I have explored other simplified corrective actions, but this is the most simple and successful method to date that I have found.

The new and improved BX-23 bracket looks like it would be backward compatible if you don't care to roll your own...

Here is a picture that I took this week of a BX23 air cleaner. I just wanted to see if it was any different than my late production BX22. From my recollection, it is the same. I resolved my possible failure by leaving the mounting bolts a little loose.
