What\'s on Your Desk

OK, this is mostly to test my new camera. Canon 350D. Thanks to Gatorboy for some insights along the way. The camera takes great pictures but I'm still working on the post processing. This is my first attempt at resizing enough for posting. And yes, it's tractor related as the subject in the photo is a tractor that sits on my desk at work /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Great pic! I wish Deere had a model of our 790 for sale, but I've never seen one..have you?

I'd get a pic of my desk...but my camera is lost amongst the clutter!

So, what kind of camera did you buy?

BTW, you might want to download Irfanview (www.irfanview.com), a free image software. It's not Paint Shop Pro, but it's the easiest one I've used for resizing pictures.

Thanks Roy, I've heard of irfanview so I guess it's time to do it. The camera is actually called the Rebel XT but in the photo forums people refer to it by it's non-US name of 350D. It's an upgrade to the original digital Rebel and it's performance is very close to the 20D. It has an eight megapixel sensor, almost the same as the 20D. Uses EF lenses and has all sorts of features I haven't even begun to understand. This is quite a step up for me since my trusty old Minolta X700.

On the tractor side, Ertl has put out several compact utility models over the years. I think there was an 8XX model and a 4XXX. Never a X90. The generic 8XX version found at TSC and such is close enough for non-tractor fans.

I'm hoping to be able to use both my tractor and the new camera a lot more in the coming days /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wow! Pineridge, the soil beneath that tractor looks nice and fluffy. Did you use one of those Hoover tillers? What crop are you gonna sow? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
