What's missing on a JD 5101E to make it cost so much less?

I was at the local JD dealer last week and saw the sticker on a 5101E @ $42,000 without a loader. That's cheaper than most other brands cab models in a similar size. Is it an outsourced model or is it missing most JD features and basically just a stripped down model?

Have you listened to one run in comparison to other engines built today? I don't mean twenty years ago plus years ago! The list goes on from there.

i think that it is just a bsic striped down tractor that should be replased

There are 2 different 5000 series cab tractors, the E Limited and M series. M series will be the high spec units with multiple trans options, but similar powerplants (the 4.5L engine is not a new powerplant to Deere). The E series are the value specced tractors but still have high end features like wet clutch and open center pressure compensated hyd. but only offered with the 12x12 trans. E series also are a cab only option, 4wd only option. Where the M series can be open station and 2wd so there are more choices when speccing out a M series. Check out both versions as much as possible and drive them both if you can.
