Those lobsters looked delicious. How were they? High of 8 degrees today around here. Think we will be eating chili.

Dudley, you have minature Lobster "out there in the ditch" for free. Terry

Hi Terry,
Yes we do, but unfortunantly, we have to wait until spring to catch any and I'm hungry NOW!

Good Evenin Dudley,
Well the last time I was in Nahhleens I had a bunch of cajun style crawdads ! ;) They were really good, even after my lips got numb from all the spices ! :)

Scotty,
Halfway through crawfish season, you don't notice your lips getting numb anymore. :p
I much prefer our crawfish over lobsters because the meat is so much juicier and more tender and flavorful but every now and then I just get a hankering for some of them giant yankee crawfish. :D

Great pics Egon, makes me hungry for lobster. About the only place to get them around here is Red Lobster!:)

Egon,

What time did you eat? We started around 8!

Our lobsters were pricier... bought a certificate(silent auction) at the local Hospital fundraiser in October.
Enough lobsters to feed 8 along with 10lbs of scallops.

Prices are down but I would pay double the wharf rate. When you're in a bind the local fishermen will remember you!

As I write we are getting a n'easter blowing by - 10 to 40cm depending were you are located. Winds up yo 100kmh with peaks at 140kmh in the highlands.

Since I heard lobsters were so cheap lately, I went to the store today to pick up my Christmas lobsters. I guess the store didn't hear that the price went down because they are $25 a pound.

I guess I'll have ham this Christmas. :(

Egon,
You are killing me with this pic!!! Lobster is my favorite an also well I guess the whole family. My husband goes shopping tomorrow for our Christmas Eve dinner and if the price of lobster is not to high he will get them. He is buying for 6 people and trust me money is real real tight until we sell that restaurant so I doubt he will buy them. But I can dream and keep my fingers crossed. You are very very lucky to have a local source for lobster, very lucky. I love it with drawn butter, lemon and salt and pepper. I am sure that you knwo that one of the claws is more sweet than the other claw. I beleive it is the larger claw that is sweeter but it might be the other way around. One claw is always bigger than the other claw. Taht is my absolute favorite the sweet claw meat. yum-yum.. drool..drool...
