Brush hog mowers will typically only have a tailwheel - finish mowers have wheels at all 4 corners to keep it more even. But the brush hog will cut tall and/or thick grass better than a finish mower. If there's no brush or tall grass, and the ground is relatively smooth, I'd go with a finish mower.
