What\'s a 2005 Case D35 going for?

I was at the dealer the other day, looking at some tractors. They have a 2005 Used D35 (previous rental) for sale with FEL & 137 hours on it. It is in great shape. They said they would give me $12.00 per hour off the price as new. This machine has the synchro shift tranny, R4 Tires.

What price are they giving you $12/hr. off? Is it the MSRP or a discounted price? What is their usual selling price for that tractor? The D35 is essentially the same tractor as a New Holland TC35. You can get a quote from Corriher Implements on a TC35 within a few minutes of e-mailing them. They won't bug you after you e-mail them for a quote - they just e-mail the quote. I have done it twice and got a price approximately the same as the one my local Case dealer gave me on the comparable Case. Use the info to get a ball park figure on the price you should have to pay for a D35. The web site is:

I need to agree with SWB, don't forget to check a lot of components (leaks,...)
At this time i don't think there could be a clutch problem.

At $12 per hour, they are offering you $1644 off their asking price. What's a year's worth of warranty worth? What kind of options does it have? Is the FEL a quick-attach? Give us some asking price info and details of options and our answers will be much better. My guess is that tractor should sell for $16,800 or less. Look in the New Holland Buying forum to see the tractor BruceNortheast just bought. That's the kind of deal you should be looking for on this tractor. You'll have a little warranty left and that will make your tractor worth a little more, but don't let the dealer pull the wool over your eyes.

Re: What\'s a 2005 Case D35 going for?

i hadn't counted it already, but it is very clever from jim to do it.
But if it is only 1644 $ i think the warranty and the counted hours are more worth, if i was i your case i would buy me a new one.
For me the 1644 $ isn't it worth and you don't know who drove the tractor , maybe it is abused by the previous owners /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well..

Here's a little more info for you. the Dealer I am speaking of sells both Kubota & CaseIH. I'll be using the tractor for snow removal, firewood as well as some occasional hay mowing/raking at my grandmothers farm.

I went to the dealer to try out a Kubota L3400. I pretty much had my mind made up to go with that tractor, FEL, manual tranny, pretty basic. I took the Kubota for a ride around the yard & was very impressed at how much bigger it feels, than it looks. I have about $16000 that I want to spend.

So, we're on our way back into the building to talk pricing on the Kubota & he shows me the CASE.

It has several options that I like over the Kubota.

1) QA bucket.
2) A little more lift cap on the FEL, as well as a bigger bucket.
3) 12 x 12 SYNCHRO SHIFT, the Kubota is not.
4) Weight. It tips the scales at over 500lbs more than the kubota. This would help where I need to use it. Better traction.
5) Size. It is taller, more comfortable & is wider, which will help with stability. I have 135 acres of property & it's mostly hilly, rocky & treed out.

On the other hand,

The Kubota has:

1) About the same amount of HP.
2) Really close to the same amount of Hydro lift.
3) Warranty.
4) Better financing, ie.. low rate Kubota financing vs higher bank financing.

My plan is to have A tractor by the end of March, 2006. That's when I'll have about $2000 to smack down on it. I will be in close contact with the dealer soon, so I will look into the case a bit more. Although I do want to go with a NEW machine to last me a LONG time, I don't want something that I'm going to outgrow either. I want to do this once.

Re: What\'s a 2005 Case D35 going for?

I have a Case DX35 which I chose over a Kubota L3830 because of the comfort factor you mentioned. Don't discount the comfort factor if you are going to spend any time on the tractor. The L3400 is the budget basic tractor while the Case is a bit more upgraded. As far as financing, I don't understand why CNH credit doesn't have a similar financing deal to Kubota. As you know Case and New Holland are the same company and New Holland is showing 0% for 48 months for compact tractors on their website if you purchase in January. The D35 is a rental and may qualify as a new tractor (like a demo car does). If not you may be better buying a new one (or a D33) if you can get that financing deal.

I don't know what it was rented for but I don't know if I truely trust the people who have rented it. Most of the time these people have no idea what they are doing and just play with all the levers and buttons until it does what they want it too. just thought i'd throw in my $.02

I paid 17.000.00 for the same tractor in June 2005. I now have 51 hours on it. It is a great tractor
