What year did JD 2720 get Emissions stuff?

I'm wondering what year JD 2720's have emissions equipment and what tiers and years it came into place.

I have a 2520 that I am looking to trade for a 2720 to get the few more ponies, as my 2520 has nearly enuf power, but it grunts hard with the big mower and tillers. I'm not looking for input on if I should of should not trade, and all that, we will save that for a different thread. My 2520 was bought new just a few months before the 2720 was released, but I don't know what year that makes my 2520. I don't know what emissions equipment is on my 2520, but it sure looks like little to none that I can see. Where do I find the build date on my 2520?

I'm trying to stay away from the emissions crap if they added it to a 2720 at a certain year, so any information on that would be greatly helpful!

Have you looked at tractordata? I think the emissions are both about the same on the 2520 and 2720. The new 2032R has def fluid, is that what you are talking about?

2011 is the last year for the 2720 so no final tier IV machines with that model

That is incorrect sir, non of the 2, 3, or 4 series machine use DEF.
Neither the 2720 nor the 2032 have any sort of emissions controls.
The new 3 and 4's use a DPF and have regen cycles but no DEF.

You're right, I got DPF & DEF mixed up. Do you reckon that's what the OP was thinking of ?

I have wondered about the same thing. What is tier 4 and how does one know if it is on a tractor. People mention it quite often but I never really understood form a tractor owners viewpoint. I read of tractor owners having problems with regen timing.

Is that is when DEF fluid is comes into play or what other parameters in play I don't know about? I have a 2010 JD3720 and was also wondering when major emissions additions took place on certain models and how to tell.

Awesome, so all 2720's are what I call "non-EPA" motors! I'm looking to upgrade my 2520 to a 2720 and I wanted to be sure some of the "newer" 2720's didn't come with all the EPA stuff one them. Thats all I needed to know! Thanks guys!

I bought my 2720 new, in the fall of 2012. As far as i know, it's about the same as an older one.

2012 was the last model year for the 2720 (I have one). The 2032R was next, but still doesn't have the DPF. You should be good up to a brand new 2032R.

Dealer says the 2016 2032R's are now coming with the DPF, but the ones built last year are not.

I'm going to stick with a 2720, so all my stuff swaps over.
