Who brushhogged with his B2910 for an hour with the parking brake on? Would you say he screwed anything up? Should he do anything (maintenance wise) to make sure he doesn't screw anything up? I'm not saying the moron was me . . . . . . .but . . . . . /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Any and all replies appreciated.

Regards,
Dave

There's good news and bad news. If you were able to mow with the brake on, then the brake wasn't adjusted very tight and you may not have worn it too much. However, you probably did cause a good bit of wear to the brake, and I would have it checked. Are you having any problems at this time? You can adjust the brake rods on each side and see if they will hold okay. I would think you didn't do that much damage since you were able to move well enough that you didn't know the brake was on! I find that with my 7610 it is very easy to come back to the tractor and start using it with the parking brake on. I've probably run around for 5 minutes on several occasions like this. I've wondered if it was set tight enough for me to move the tractor...... good place for a buzzer..... for it to go off if you try and move with the brake on.

Well the brakes still hold. I'm just wondering if I did any lasting damage. I wish there was a red light when the parking brake was engaged. I might have to figure something out.

Have a good one,
Dave

Didn't seem to be any ill effects at all
May have put a glaze on the linings but I have no idea. They still worked good after that.

Thanks! My main concern was polluting the hydraulic fluid or something like that. (overheating it??)

been there done that, only about 5 min though. have bought a 12vdc buzzer, at motor parts store, to wire in with light on the dash. factory should install one that goes off when parking brake is set and in h,m,or low but not neutral , bet a lot more poeple would use brake and neutral before getting off an hst.
KUBOTA ARE YOU LISTENING???
