What would you do

Hello all
Looking at a Bobcat and will be purchasing in the next day or 2 but am trying to decide on which one. A CT235 or CT335SST that is $600 dollars more. I have had a hydro before and have also used SS tranny tractors also. Will be using for clearing, driveway maint., moving dirt, mulch, stone, and snow. Just wondering if its worth the $600 extra for a heavier machine 700lbs, 3pt lift cap is higher 200-800lbs, loader lift height is more 14", but i would be giving up the hydro. The hydro 335 would be nice but prices seem to be $1500-$2000 more.
Thanks for any help in this decision.
Also if anyone has a coupon i would greatly appreciate it.

Depends on how bad you want the hydrostat transmission.
Personally I would go with the CT335SST.

I was on the same boat as as you are, not long ago. I visited 3 dealers and after talking to Rick Wallace on "wants and needs", I ended with the CT235 and will be deliver on Wednesday. I actually went up with CT440 after trying one but I only have 4 acres to take care. And with the CT235... it is more than what I needed. Between your two choices... you can't go wrong :thumbsup:. Congrats on your purchase. Oh one more thing. Ask around if anyone still have their coupon. I got one from KS Kioti and he will have the other half to purchase the implement. Just need to give him the serial number of my new tractor.

I have a CT450 SST and love it awesome power and its all useable, I had a 440 hydro for a year and 109 hrs and it just didnt cut it!! If you like geared tractors you will ove the SST 335 im sure.

I see you have 3 acres.
The CT235 with hydro may be a better fit.

The 235 is more tractor than you,ll need.I just got to the 180 hr. mark and I use it every day and is a very good machine:thumbsupave

Yes i have about 4 acres and it will also be used on my father-in-laws 6 acres across the road. It is going to be a joint purchase and he is really attracted to the larger machine. If i left it up to him he would come home with a full size backhoe and luckily i have been able to steer him away from that mistake.
My old tractor was a JD 4200hst and i always felt it was a little too small. I have also read that the high range with the hydros feel weak. Has anyone else noticed that. Even with my JD on open road in H range it would not hold a steady speed unless on flat or downhill even the slightest grade would start to bog down with the RPMs up. Not that this is a huge concern since i rarely needed to use H anyway.
Does anybody make a cab that can easily be put on and removed. I like cabs but find them to be more off a hassle in anything but very cold weather due to the restrictions on seeing out and around the machine.

I was in the same situation last summer. Decided to go with the 335CT and boy am I glad I did! The extra power and weight allows me to carry bigger logs and is perfect size for putting in and taking out my dock. That would have overwhelmed a 235CT.

I'm on 17 acres and have the CT230. It has done everything I have ask of it...except paying off the loan that I used to buy it.

I have a CT 235, and I also am very happy with it.
I have put over 60 hours on it in a little over a month, and it has done everything I asked it to.
A bigger sized frame would hinder me in a lot of ways, I have already had to trim up a lot of lower hanging branches that wanna smack me in the face, my ROP is already scraped up do to branches, turning radius is probably not as good ( I am not sure, as I never have looked into it), price is a little lower, but that wasnt the reason I bought mine, I just felt the frame size was more suited to my place.

I am not sure if the CT 335 has a stock cab, that would be a plus in the wintertime, but I am not so sure I would enjoy it much in the summer time, that s part of the joy on a tractor, the sun and wind on your face
