what was that noise

i bought a 62'' snowblower today and hooked it up and ran it a bit. all is fine until i press the clutch and it makes a weird ratcheting sound that goes away as the drive shaft slows down. is this normal? it sounds like its coming from inside the transmision. not loud but very noticable. also does it slightly when i drop the rpm's quickly and not touching the clutch pedal. only does this sound when the blower is on the pto. my first pto anything and hope im just paranoid a bit.

Sounds like the over running clutch in the PTO.

agreed, if it is a click click click sound then it is probably the overunning clutch, Normal operation, go on with life.
