OK,
I am still not 100% clear on this. I have a 2008 New Holland TZ25Da 4x4. The owners manual is a bit confusing. (at least it's confusing to me)

I just added a loader. So I should add a little hydralic fluid, I am not sure what kind to add.

I am thinking I can just use general tractor hydralic fluid and add it to the rear as it appears to be all connected to the hydralics. -rigHHHHHT?

So to sum up, what type of hydralic oil do I use?
and
Where do I add it?

I just want to be crystal clear.

Doesn't your owners manual tell you what transhydraulic fluid is used in your tranny, rear axle/hydraulic systems?! Why would you want to add some other hydraulic fluid? On these modern tractors, generally the rear axle, and tractor hydrauics use a common sump and the transmission and front axle (on a 4wd) have separate sumps and generally they all use the same fluid.

The owners manual should tell you to add NH Ambra MultiG for your hydraulics if you are using the tractor's hydraulic system to power your loader. DO NOT USE ANYTHING ELSE BUT THIS OR IT'S EQUIVALENT! NO AW 32 or AW 46 hydraulic fluid! Your owners manual should tell you where you add the fluid and where to check for the correct quantitiy

Get to know your owners manual and read it. If you don't have one, get one. It has all the answers to the questions you are asking. You can often times find them on ebay or you can get them from NH.

Thanks for your reply.
Yeah, I've read the owners manual several times, thanks.

From how I interperate it, I fill it in the rear, and the rear basically holds the transmission and the hydralic fluid and they are all connected to this through one pump.

I believe the owners manual does mention NH Ambra MultiG and then another to add to it (I am thinking the one serves as a friction modifier???)

"why would I want to use anything other than Ambra?"
-Well, for starters, I was raised save money where I can, and I am pretty darn sure someone else makes New Holland's oil.

Thanks to all!

if I just needed to add a lil makeup to a new machine under warranty.. i'd likely get the ambra g in a small quantity.

if not in warranty.. then a utf meeting m2c134D should be fine...

Does M2C134D fluid meet the NH410B spec?

Yep Vicosity Oil makes it for NH. I don't know about your model but my NH does NOT call for any friction modifier because I have wet brakes. If you have wet brakes there's nothing that you shuld have to add to the fluid. It's all ready in there if it meets NH 's spec. If your tractor requires any additive it will be specified in the owners manual. Your manual will also tell you what the appropriate fluid spec is. If you don't use Ambra, (and you don't have to) then you should use something that meets the NH spec. In my case the spec is NH410B

Go to TSC and buy "Premium Transmission/Hydraulic Fluid". It sells for around $45 for a 5-gallon pail and also comes in smaller containers. DO NOT buy Hydraulic R&O fluid or one that is just labelled "Hydrauilic Fluid." You want an oil that will have the right mix of detergents and is multi-viscosity for your HST transmission. The HST is the most critical part of your tractor. Since you only need a couple of quarts, I'd suggest just buying it from NH because often at other stores, they only sell in 5-gal pails and 1-gal containers. Your NH dealer will have quarts. The lower cost overall might be to just buy a couple of quarts of Ambra Multi-G at your NH dealer.

m2c134d is not a fluid.. but is a spec.. just like your nh410b. IE.. there is no 'm2c134d' fluid.

ambrag , for instance, meets the m2c134d spec.

most utf's meet many specs. it will be up to the OP to choose a utf that meets the stated specs for his machine. I hope he has a manual.
