I was curious as to what type of air are Kubota owners using to inflate tires? At first I was using a Sears brand electric compressor but wasn’t happy with ‘rebound’ qualities I was getting out of the tires. (Plus the level ground ‘glide’ didn’t seem very long.) I guess it true that you get what you pay for. Considering the vital nature that good fresh air in tires provides I stated looking for a better alternative. I tried a number of electric inflators but quickly realized they were are a poor substitute for excellence service station air. Well after much research I was able to find a quality supply of air without needing to pay for the overly expensive Kubota air from the local dealer. Just down the street from me is a small Shell service station with a tire inflator located around back. What makes this ideal is the air intake for the Allied Compressor is next to an open window overlooking a forested glen with a beautiful babbling brook. Yes I did have to pay 50 cents to inflate my tires but its well worth the cost. My tractor just rides so much better now and I no longer worry over having cheap air in the tires.

Well time for the 50 hour service and I need to select what brand of oil I’ll be using….decisions, decisions.

I have mine imported from Antarica -- it is the freshest I can find.

I thought that was were the ozone hole was. Is there an issue using ozone free air? I'm very particular about the quality of air that goes into my Kubota since as everyone knows, Kubota is the undisputed leader in compact tractors, at least that is what they are saying in the JD forum . Now when I fill up my JD 510 mower, I use fart air. My International get's air shipped in from around the world. The Kubota gets rarified, stratified, slightly malted air. Hope this helps.

I'm with Gatorboy. The manual states "cold inflation pressure" and I get the coldest I can find. Fill them on a warm day from my 12 gal Artic air can and you can ice forming on the walls of the tires.

I prefer 75 degree sunny air especially in the winter, but is a very rare commodity here in west Michigan in the winter so I try and fill up in the summer time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

HELIUM, in my tires when mowing, it give the tractor a lighter footprint and saves fuel. also in my cars, gets 5mpg extra as it make the car lighter.

This has previously been discussed at great lengths before in the Owning/Operating forum and if you care to read all about it, here is the link to all 6 pages of it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Imported air will void you warranty. You have to use "Kubota" air.

By the way, my "poser" is dirty....it's driving me crazy! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Actually, ozone doesn't play well with rubber. I recall seeing cautions about storing waders and the like in sealed plastic bags and away from electric motors to avoid deterioration.......chim

From this website:
http://www.tnrcc.state.tx.us/air/monops/ozoneinfo.html

An excerpt: "Materials damaged by ozone include rubber, nylon, plastics, dyes, and paints. Also, many food crops are damaged by ground-level ozone each year"
