Tractor
Kubota B2630
I have 11 Acres, 4 acres to be mowed, 1 acre to be bush hogged, 6 acres are trees that will be left alone. I would like to be able to tackle any job that comes up. I was looking at the B7510HSD. Any tractor choice ideas about my situation would be appreciated?

Thanks.

Basically you are working 5 acres, and most of that will be mowing. I'd say you are on target with either a 7510 or a 7610. I would prefer the slightly larger 7610 due to its added PTO horsepower, it will handle a slightly larger deck better. But either tractor would fit your needs nicely. Both are considered light tractors, which is a major asset for lawn mowing.

I would want the largest tractor and mower that I could get to mow 4 acres. In the Kubota line that would be the B7800 and B26-3030. All three will allow a 72" MMM. These tractors will give you the ability to tackle those unknown project that require more power, height and lift capabilities. Both of these tractors will also let you put a 7 1/2' BH on them.
I have a B2910, replaced by the B3030. There are many times I wish have I had more power, lift height, and lift weight. But the most limiting factor in my search for a tractor was weight for lawn mowing.

Yes, the majority would be mowing.

More information on my plans for the 5 acres; First of all , it is all flat, I will be planting a .5 acre garden, adding 1 horse, adding trees. I would also like to clear a 3' or 4' path through/around the 6 acres of trees.

Thanks Again.

Ron makes some really good points about the added size/power. We all wish we had MORE at some times.

As for making 3' to 4' paths through the woods, I think you will be making them more like 6' wide instead. A tractor, even a small one, is going to be about 4' wide. You will need some wiggle room on either side. So if you want to run a small tractor down the path, you will be looking for a wider path. My paths are probably 6' to 8' wide where I run my tractors, I don't have a lot paths, just what I need to get from the ridge tops down to the bottom; they are wider in turns are narrower in straight areas.

I just went through the same senario..have 10 acres, need to mow etc.etc..I ended up buying the b7510. There was $1000 difference between the b7510 and b7610 and I just couldn't justify that amount for 2pto hp. I used the money to buy implements that I need /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. As for the performance, it has exceeded my expectations,no problem at all with a 48in box blade full of dirt, using 3pth forks to move pallets of firewood, and lugging tree lenghth hwd around. I met a fellow worker who has the b7500 and he told me he snowblows with a 60 inch snowblower no problem whatsoever. To me, the only sacrafice between the 7510 and 7610 would be a 72inch finish mower on 7610 and a 60 inch on the 7510, other than that the recommended implements appeared to me to be the same. The loader on the 7610 has 100lbs more lift..mine 7510 (l-302 loader) lifts a full bucket of rocks, dirt, firewood without much effort at all(I did fill rear tires) so I am happy with it's performance. For my general landscaping, snow, wood, trail, budget needs the b7510 has met my expectations. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good information. Thanks.

For price purposes, I think the 7510 is closer to the $100 I really want to spend on a tractor. I don't think they make one for that price yet...

So,
What is a good price for a B7510HSD?
What is a good price for a B2630HSD?

Thanks.
