fresh cut roads, i hope you have ditches were you need them. less water on the road and less water that runs across the road. less upkeep the road will take and longer it will last.
a local seed company or local ag extension would be best bet. being local to your area of the country and knowing temperatures / soil / rain amounts. can help them help you out better.
keeping things mowed. can really help with keeping things washing out. when you let things grow tall. you end up with big stems, and bigger plants and fewer plants / grass pieces. with a shorter height, more smaller plants grow. and able to hold the soil better. and at same time help filter the soil out of run off water.
