Nice boom flail mower. Know if these are sold on the west side of the pond? There isn't a month in the year that I don't use two or three of the tractors. Feeding the livestock of course in the winter daily with the feeder tractor. But as far as the utility tractors go, there is always brush removal, windfall tree and branch cleanup and burning (grapple work). There is fence repair and fence post replacement (FEL mounted hydraulic auger). Don't forget about drainage needs in the winter (backhoe). Snow removal. Loading anything and everything into the truck or on the trailer (FEL). Hauling firewood to the house woodpile (FEL or pulling trailer). Prepping the garden before spring...... Plenty more I can't think of now.

Boom flail mower? I like how we have different names for these things. It is a flail mower I suppose, but the flails are the other way on, and act like chisels. I would of thought these are available on your side of the wet bit. My hedge flail made by McConnell and there's loads of info on their website. http://www.mcconnel.com/Products/Powerarms/Default.aspx?nav=Power Arms

That's brilliant, I'm in the Derbyshire area in the midlands, and where I live we normally get the worst of the weather in this region.
That's a brilliant idea, but where would I apply for such work?

Literally any small business park!
Hotels, gyms, anywhere that has a carpark really.
Nursing homes are good, but often don't have enough money to pay much.
We run a bunce drop spreader behind our tractor, which is ideal for pedestrian areas - we did a retail park with lots of walkways last year where a 2ft drop was ideal.
We also do larger business parks too, where we have a broadcast spreader or spread by hand.
Looking at a Snow ex machine to fit on tow bar for this season as we have 11 decent sized sites to do with one van from 7pm to 7am!!

Ha ha, I wrote this post on my iPhone, and it corrected the text. It was supposed to say "misses"

Yeah, I'm not pointing fun at your spelling as I knew what you meant - actually using Mississippi for misses was neat in a different way I suppose. My point was that if your "misses" wants you to sell a tractor so she can buy a house then I was thinking that is a bit selfish on her part in my opinion, especially considering the tractor is worth much less than the house I'm assuming. If you really want the house too then that's another story and I suppose compromises will need to be made to get there for lack of better alternatives.

So with my tractor, I have:
-loader
-post hole auger
-scraper
-log splitter
-chipper

We used the loader year round. Loading things, lifting things, moving things... Dirt, Rock, manure, compost, firewood etc The post hole auger, not so much, but it can be used any time of year. Scraper with rippers get used all the time, scraping, smoothing, ripping. The log splitter gets used any time I cut wood, year round. The chipper gets frequent use, for chipping branches, but it also has a shredder for leaves and smaller yard debri.

Looking at you tractor in the pictures, you need more implements! :D

Thank you for your advise, this is brilliant. I'll visit a few business parks and see if I can find out who is in charge of that sort of thing. It would be great to get the tractor doing some of that.

I understand, it's quite funny that I didn't see that I had wrote Mississippi.
She has got a point about the house, but I don't want to part with my tractor and equipment.

why is it we sell our tractors and not our wives. Seems a better way to make some extra cash. You will have uses for your tractor all year long. Moving logs, digging drainage, grading a drive way. fixing gutters, and just looking at as it sits in the garage.

Best quote of the day.... Same could be said for a formal dinning room.
Tell the wife you keep her around too even though you don't have use for her all the time* :)

*Individual results will vary

Yeah you're right, I do need more implements, it's just deciding what to get next. I'd love to have a go at snow blowing and have watched a few videos on YouTube of Kubota's with snow blowers, but it is so hard to find a snow blower attachment in the UK, let alone finding a genuine Kubota one. It looks great fun though. :)
