What temperature does your TC 55 run ?

That's what I would do also DH350. I don't like cold running oil in the engine, it's bad enough in the rest of the tractor. Hydraulics, trans, 3ph. Cold oil will wear metal parts at a microscopic level,.....sooner you warm up the better, hence......block heater. Winter time, when it's cool to be hot.

Ran it today for 6 hours with the radiator 80% blocked off. Still a needle width into the green. I hope my guage is correct.

You have to make the engine work hard like blowing snow, mowing thick grass or something. Thats the only way I can make that needle move more in the green.

This may sound kind of silly, but touch the tractor radiator, engine block, oil filter and tranny filter housing. If it is "hot" you know something is not right. I block 70% of my radiator during freezing weather and the gauge always reads mid green (same as summer) and the tractor pieces never get really hot to the touch.

There are even temp probes that can read the temp using some sort of infrared beam.

I spoke with my NH dealer today and explained the temperature problem. One of the mechanics related they did have problems with defective thermostats or possibly one they failed to install. I also had a problem with the " float " position on the 270 loader that failed to stay engaged. Some of the brackets were not built properly on the lever control which failed to provide ample forward movement. As a result the control valve did not completly engage. They will pick up the tractor one day next week and take care of the problems. They are also going to install a block heater while it is there for service.
I also asked if they had any problems with the brake lock mechanism causing a current draw. The mechanic said they also found the solution to this problem. The wiring to the unit was reversed making it operate backwards. It opens the circuit when it should be closed. If it does not have a low toned beep when the key is off and the brake not set it is definately the cause.
These people are by far the most knowledgable, helpful, NH dealer I have had the pleasure to do business with. I certainly will recommend Cherokee Garage in Colby, Wisconsin for great service and customer appreciation.

It sounds like they are going to take care of the issue's let me know how it turns out i might ask the dealer for a themostat. About the loader float i need to try mine but i havent had a good day on it yet my loader works fineso far.On my brake alarm it seems to work right when you leave the seat for any reason the brake has to be set, running or not the alarm will sound if it isnt.

Fullpull; All you have to do to check is push the control lever all the way forward. If it stays your ok. Mine wouldn't hold the position. They experienced this on a couple others so they will either modify or replace the linkage. The mechanic stated they do not like to see a turbo engine run cold. It should be way into the green. They advised not to run it this way if possible and they will get it back as soon as the schedule clears. We initially spoke of the block heater but we must have forgotten about it. At any rate this will be added as part of the package.
I sure like the hydraulic power. With the woods box blade on the rear you can hook the tooth bar into frozen ground and the rear tires just pop off the ground. I think the hydro took up more hp than I realized.

I loaded the front bucket with a load of sand the rear wheels was off the ground .The front loader has a 3500lb lift and a 2500 to full hight.According to the specs on NH websight. The hydro took alot of the hp of my 40d also it was strong but not like the 55.Its been to cold to set mine up i need to get fluid in the tires soon.I guess the draw bar pull is just about that much better also .Thanks for the info.
