What size trailer for a Ck30, loader,backhoe ?

I also have an 18' with the ramps that stow up, not under, and the wheel on the rotary cutter fits between them, slightly off the edge of the trailer. It fits fin, I don't have to hassle with anything. Of course, I think in hind sight I would have gone with the 20' just to ave a little more "wiggle" room. I don't think you will "need" more than 18' but I don't n=know how far off the back the BH is.

I'd go for the 20' trailer. My tractor is about the same length as yours and with my loader and 5' KK rotary mower it measures 19' long. I bought a 20' tiltbed with 83" between the removable fenders. Most standard trailers are about 77" between but I also haul a car or truck once in a while and 77" wide won't cut it.
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks to all, i think the 20' would probably be my best bet... I had also wanted to use the trailer for hauling other things like my quad ,lumber, etc , and didnt want to clutter up my new garage with several trailers.. Matt

Joe & Lewis, my "20" foot trailer includes the A-frame, so I only have a working deck length of 18 feet (as do you, Joe). Two feet more would have been ideal. I completely agree with Lewis' recommendation to make sure you get brakes on all four wheels. Don't skimp on a good controller either. Good luck & happy & safe hauling.

Very nice rig. I'm embaressed to say I have to use my father in laws
20' car hauler for my Long and 5' BB. Plenty of room to spare.
Luckily the old girl is pretty reliable and rarely gets trailer time,
except when He's borrowing it /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

What type of truck would you need to pull this kind of setup? ck30 loader backhoe

If you are buying a new (to you) truck for this I would go for a 3/4 ton or bigger. My combined weight is over 13000 with my one implement. Not sure how much the backhoe weighs but if I was looking to replace my truck it would be with a 3/4 ton. It doesn't need to be a dually and doesn't need to be a diesel but the 3/4 ton or larger truck is typically built tougher with much higher ratings.

I tow the pictured setup with that half ton at 11 mpg and it is just fine, no highway hill takes me below 55 with the 350 ci engine. No white knuckles but the truck is too close to its rated maximums for me so my next truck will be rated for more. Actually, if I had my way, I would love a nice cummins diesel.

If you are trying to get by with an existing truck then we would need more information but a half ton might be able to do it.

Woops, I thought my first picture showed my truck. Here it is on "delivery" day. My BB is still JD green except where the paint wore off.

I would have no problem towing that load with a BH instead of the BB but I would know that the truck is at the max. I can't imagine the BH and subframe weighing much more than 1000 lbs.

98 K1500, 350, auto, C rated LT tires, timbren overloads, tow package, OEM engine oil and atf coolers, trans temp gauge, 10k rated WD hitch setup, flowmaster exhaust system, 145000 miles.

I shopped for trailers for awhile and found a huge range in quality and price. The quality didn't always go up with the price.

I tow it with this:

98 K1500, 350, auto, C rated LT tires, timbren overloads, tow package, OEM engine oil and atf coolers, trans temp gauge, 10k rated WD hitch setup, flowmaster exhaust system, 145000 miles.
