L3400
I am looking to purchase a disc for my L3400 and was wondering what size would work best. I was thinking 5.5 feet to 6.5 feet. The tractor has turf tires so I wasn't sure if a 6.5 foot disc would be a little to much for it. The land is mostly level.

I posted this same question recently and ended up buying a 5.5 foot disc. My tractor pulls it fine, 4x4.

Personally, I wouldn't go with a 6 footer after all that I was told.
Good luck,

WIth a disc the size it can pull depends on the weight. I normally recommend a tiller as a disc on the three point hitch normally is to light to do much work. You have to remember the lighter discs used by a farmer is 200lbs per foot and the most common we sell is about 400 lbs per foot.

I pull a 5 footer behind my L2800HST with loaded R4 tires and it does it without any problems.

I've got a Massey 1533, which is about the same size as your 3400. I pull a 6 1/2' with no problems, don't even need FWD unless its wet. I guess I should actually wait until it's drier if I need FWD, but the 1533 will pull it.

Thanks guys. I've been trying to find one used but can't seem to find one. I used to have a BX 2200 and when I had that tractor I ran across a couple used discs in the 5 to 6.5 range but they were to big for it. Now that I have the L3400 I haven't had any luck coming across one that size.
