What size rotary cutter would be best for about an acre of mostly tall grass and weeds?? Do you think a 5' would be too big for a TZ25da///19pto hp??? Thanks .

I think 4 ft. would probably be best, using 1 foot per 5 HP as a guideline.

I ran a 4' on my TC18 - it is as much the weight & size of the unit as HP required.

4' would be a good size for you TZ. Especially if it's only an acre. (figure about an hour job)

Are you needing a rotary to cut the thick stuff only once? Will you be keeping up with the grass after the first cut? I would go with a 4'er. But if you intend on keeping it cut, maybe you could rent or borrow a rotary for the first cut then look into geting a finish mower. Or does your tz25 already have the mid mount mower?

Probably only once or twice a year. Mostly paths below the house. i think I'm leaning towards the 4'. I do have the MMM but I think the brush would just be too much. TSC has a king kutter for a little over 600. I think I just might buy...Thanks.

Welcome to TBN ! I agree with all the other posters as to RC size. I would "go" with KK- KK RC's appear to meet a lot of TBN member's needs. When I read about "paths" I start to think about ground clearances which is not a "strength" of MMM's especially when cutting less than level areas with "hidden surprises" Jay
