Kioti recommends no larger then a 4ft blade. What are your veteran thoughts on this. Would the Ck 20 handle a 5 ft to cover the tracks?

I think this depends on use and soil.

Not sure where you live, where I live, my LK3054 with loader and rops weighs in at approximately 3800-4000lbs with fuel and all, and 5foot is perfect.

It's really a weight thing, if you are trying to rip through rock infested soil like me, you need lots of weight.

Would think a 4 footer about right for a 20 in these conditions.

If grading and moving soil, I would think 5 footer on your machine would be fine.

But ripping hard soil I'd think you a little to light for anything more than 4 foot.

Good luck,
Joel

Thanks

I have a Mahindra 2015. Very similar specs to the CK20. I run a 5 foot box blade on mine with no problems (usually). I have r-4's that are loaded. For a little extra traction, I'll grab a scoop of dirt in the loader bucket too.

I agree that soil conditions would be a factor, but nothing that "taking smaller bites" wouldn't fix.

5' on a CK20 is no problem..

You want to cover your tracks.

I can stall mine, depending on the condition of the soil. But more often I have soil pouring out the top of the box before the tractor will stop.

I use a 5' on a CK20 HST with no problems.

Just don't try to dig to deep on a single pass.

I also have a 5' BB for my CK20 and it handles it OK.

I put a Worksaver 66-incher on the CK20 I bought and it has AG
rears at the widest setting. Works fine. The only issue is I had
to bend the 3PT arms a bit outward so the stay chains did not rub
the tires. This would have been a prob with the 60-incher, too. Other
brands, maybe not.

I'd say without reservation, go for the 5'. I have a 5' and have absolutely no problem overfilling box and the tractor's never even come close to stalling. If anything, at times it will spin tires!

Ok, I'm gonna be the odd man out here....well me and JoelD :p
I say if you are going to use it hard, landscaping and such, sort of like a rear mount bulldozer go with the 4'
If you are just spreading gravel/dirt etc then 5'.
A box blade isn't just a box, it has rippers too...and some will dig DEEP.
I have stalled a DK45 with a 72" box before.
Rippers in the full down position box full of WV river dirt.

Usage and soil are the deciding factors.
