I have a Ford 1000 and want to attach a loader. I need 4 bolts for either side on the transmission and need to know what size they are.

Welcome to TBN.

Are the holes cast into the transmission? If so call any NH dealer and they should be able to tell you what size they are. If they haven't been used, you should clean them out real good and run a bottoming tap into the holes. Mine on the 4000 were 3/4" and it took about 4 hours total to clean all 16 holes on the tractor.

Thanks, but I found them this morning at the Ford Dealer. I made a template of the threads with a candle. The bolts on this tractor are actually 5/8". The tractor came with the house. Sometime before we got it looks like the battery leaked and etched the model and serial number plate beyond recognition, so I have trouble when I need parts. From what I can tell there were several versions of it. It is a good little tractor though and does what it was intended to do.
