What site do you use for weather forecast?

Here is my goto for 7 day forecast, in general weather forecasting is about as accurate as using the groundhog

This site is interesting and I've been finding it pretty good for near term weather forecasts in my area

The free website version works well and gives you everything - no need to buy the phone version of the "app"

OAA/NWS. They have the technology that other weather services access and use
They do. Yet other sites seem to translate it better into more accurate forecasts.

I used to depend on my weather horse, until he was no more, supplemented by the weather rock. Still use the weather rock but it is not as accurate as the horse was. As I tell my wife most weather forecasters cannot get it right or close even standing out in it.

Actually having our own weather station has been the best for figuring out the local scene. The national or commercial services always miss the mark for us, usually by a wide margin. Kinda like we live in a hole that no one has data for or wants to cover.

I use one of our local news stations mostly, they have a brief paragraph synopsis (updated numerous times per day) and a video of the most recent weather forecast from the news along with a 7 day forecast. I find that is good enough to get a good idea of what is going on locally and why. And their radar is pretty nice as well. When I want to get a longer look at the "10 day forecast" I will use Weather.com. If I need to look at history or figure out how much rain has fallen in a 48 hour period or want the skinny on a weather warning/watch I will turn to NOAA.

It seems to me that Weather Underground is one of the less inaccurate ones,
you can localize it in the drop down tab (light blue) under there name and actually pick local reporting stations for you local for the current conditions,

I use that one as well as my weather station is included. I find they are slow in updating the forecast and including weather alerts. 24 hours in advance they are the most accurate for my specific location.

For forecasts I use the carrot weather app, another app National Wx that gives access to NWS forecasts, sat photos and models, and the NWS point forecast web site. Lately I have been watching the weather closely in the winter to see if my frequent travels to Oregon will be affected by snow.

For current data I use ambient weather. We used to use Weather Underground but they changed their data policy so they own the data you upload from your web site and they keep making the app slower and less useful. We upload our weather station to ambient weather now.

I actually use an app called Flowx. You can see NOAA, CMC, and ECMWF. This app is AMAZING, but be aware it's data heavy. If you don't have an engineer's mind, you'd probably hate it. It has so much information on one page that it can be overwhelming. I've found the accuracy to be excellent, but you have to actually look at the data to understand what the forecast is for your location.

Don’t need a weather site. It’s gonna be hot and dry today, just like yesterday and the day before that, and on and on.

I generally get my local weather from my weather station. I also check the weather reports supplied by the three nearest airports for comparison. Where I am is all that matters. ;) To get a week ahead look, I use the MSN weather link for my location.

If it's bad enough, I get alerts from the news or my phone. I can't change the weather, so I enjoy it, complain about it or hunker down.

I also use weather.com (the weather channel) and accuweather.com. Plus I watch my local TV station forecast. Between the three I get a rough idea what we are going to have for weather.

My favorite is the Weather Underground 10 day forecast. It is the best visual graphic, and dense with information.

For local weather in the morning I like Charlie Shortino on WMTV (just the weather with no added fluff). I also like the Weather Channel...nice and simple.

I check my phones weather but also note conditions. Here in Michigan a southeast wind is an indicator of rain regardless of the time of year. In winter it will warm up and rain. A mackerel sky is also a sign of rain within the next day. Thunderheads too. I also check the barometer. Spring weather is unstable and often harder to predict.

One thing I totally ignore is the weather from Al Roker. The first thing he wants to tell me is how many millions of people are affected by a weather system.

And then he starts speed talking and it all goes in one ear and out the other.

Do my own forecasting. Use the HRRR for immediate weather and NAM for 3 days.

Use this site for current to long range then weather models to break it down to my area

If I look at a forecast this is the only one I use anymore plus has great satellite and radar. The forecast is a blend of MANY forecasting models

Almost everyone gets intel from NOAA for weather data......that may end as they are being hacked to shreds right now. They may not be functional for long.

I am sure you're right about both things. I have not heard a lot about NOAA firings but I bet they are happening as well.

I find that Weather Underground has the most accurate forecasts for me on the south end of Whidbey Island. But I think they got sold because the site is now really slow and even though I keep changing my station to one that is closer to me every time I use the site it changes the station to one that is farther away so I have to pick my station every time. Still, even though it is much slower and I have to deal with changing the station every time, I use it the most because of the better accuracy for my area.
