Going to need about a 7' sickle bar mower.

What are the key things to look for?

Thanks in advance.

I'd look for a belt-drive sicklebar. Mine was a 7-ft Massey Ferguson 31. Paid $600 at auction and put another $200 in parts to restore it to working condition.

You may get lucky and find one that's in good shape and ready to mow.
Otherwise plan to replace the sickle sections, one or more rock guards, belt.
I had to replace the bar that carried the sickle sections since the outer end was too bent to work properly.

Also get hold of the user manual. The manual for my 31 contains operation, troubleshooting, maintenance information along with a parts list.

Good luck
