NH 1715 & JD 4120
I bought a 4120 about a year ago and have been using the rotary cutter off my older, smaller NH. The NH is 27hp and the cutter is a 60 inch one. What size can I go up to on the 4120. Seems like the manual points to a 72 inch one but I think it strange that I can only go up a foot with the extra hp that the JD has. Any thoughts? Also, suggestion on a brand or am I better off getting a JD cutter. I live in Florida (really flat land) and I'm cutting bahia grass and some weeds - nothing big.

thanks Jim

JD MX cutters are great. But forget the 7' model. Your best bet is the 6. But you could run the 8. But the price is a huge jump.

7' is single spingle and really takes a lot of power to spin. 8' is double.

Bush hog makes a 7' dual, but it was thought to be pretty prone to breaking...

I concur with Mike. I just got an MX6 and that thing really rocks....!

Price was $2300 assembled and it has worked like a champ on 10 acres (pasture, swamp grasses, etc.) plus ditches over the last week or so since I received it. I would suggest, however, getting an i-Match as it makes connection MUCH easier.
