We recently had a thread about the confusion on what oil filter to use in New Holland tractors. It seems getting a non-OEM filter to match the OEM filter was confusing. It was also told about the ever changing oil filter numbers for New Holland tractors. It is also now confusing about the correct oil to use. When I bought my TN65D new back in 2004 I was told that NH 15w40 was the oil to use in my tractor year around. I did so till this year. Now, Its impossible to buy a 5 gal bucket of NH 15w40 oil at my NH dealer. They only sell NH 5w30 in 5 gallon buckets and say it the oil for my tractor. What is the deal? PS they said they can still get NH 15w40 in quart containers, but its priced at 3x the cost of buying it by the 5 gal. bucket! Is this another NH way of maximizing profit for its OEM(outrageously expensive maintenance) products?
