How did you get it to stay up there like that?

I can always go back in the woods and show the topped limbs and the ball/root/tree from another angle. I don't think digital imagery goes there just yet with a single camera.

Just kidding. Photo shop is fun, though. I thought the guess about snow was pretty good, too.

On a sad note, I also remember hearing stories about the root ball tipping back into the hole when the trunk was cut trapping people. I think someone died around here when that happened. Unless someone was warned of that kind of thing, they'd problably never even think about it until it happened.

Nice looking woods, you have there. I have no beech or birch. All oak and cherry with a few maple.

I was going to say tree stand. I have used my tree stand to cut out some sizeable limbs before, but not to top a tree. Not the safest thing to do, but at least I had a place to sit when I got tired!
