Loader What Loader?

I have a John Deere 5205 with MFWD and the R4 tires. I am looking to purchase a loader. These days, the dealer is recommending a 553 loader. I know that Bush Hog makes a good one as well. Anyone have recommendations towards preferred make/model and or options? My primary use will be moving hay bales and general farm work.

When I was looking for a smaller compact last Spring (bought a 790), I checked on Bush Hog, Koyker & JD loaders. All were about the same price. ~~ grnspot110

My oldest Son just bought a Bush Hog Loader for his 4000 Ford and he got the 6 ft bucket and front hay spear for $4250 and he installed himself. Wait time was about 3 weeks. Ken Sweet

The 553 is what is used on the 5E tractors, which are much bigger than a 5205. It will be 10 times the loader as the aftermarket ones, but don't overload load it with that tractor.

I put a Koyker on a grey-market tractor. Great loader, very well built and great company to deal with.
