Kioti 1590 72" bucket, Kioti 1470 66" bucket, or Rhino 2409 60" or 72" bucket? I have settled on a DK 45 4wd tractor. I really wasn't wanting to go too much wider than the tractor which is 61". It will be used for lifting dirt, grading the driveway, small round roll lifting, and cleaning up around. Are the Kiotis enough better to warrant the $500 more they cost than the Rhino?

I don't know about the $500, but if you plan on using pallet forks, bale spear, or for grading the self-leveling is VERY nice on the 1590 loader. You will also probably want to get the 72" bucket, which is a little wider than rear tires (6" on either side isnt THAT much and you'll appreciate the capacity when moving materials).

I really do not know anything about the Rhino loaders, but do they even offer a self-leveling one??

I would go for the 1590 with the 72" bucket myself.

I do not like loaders that have a bar going across the top near the steering wheel, or a bar across the grille by the headlights /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I really like my 1730 loader /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You're right! I will be financing so that limits it to the two Kioti. From looking at the spec sheets I can tell very little difference in them. Then again though I am basically loader iliterate. Is one better than the other or just bigger?

I like the Kioti loader on my DK40,you would be hard pressed to find a beefier mount system.Like the others have said, get the 72" bucket, you'll kick yourself later if you don't,imagine plowing snow or whatever and not having your tires in the plow path....Mike

Like the man said, get the 1590 self-leveling loader! You can't go wrong with that function & it really helps out. But also don't forget the quick-attach plate that fits on it, it is another option you can't do without. Some dealers want to charge $425 retail for it, but if your'e doing a package deal on a new tractor, they should come down to $375 for the quick-attach. I picked up a nice set of new bobcat forks for $400 later on, but your bucket will already be set up for the quick-attach. Don't do like I did and buy the quick-attach adapter plate for the bucket AFTER I got the adapter plate for the loader, I also had to cut off the mounts on my fairly new bucket to make everything work.

The Rhino 2409 is a US made loader that was the original loader used on the DK45. The good thing about the Rhino 2409 is that the hydraulic cylinders can be rebuilt with inexpensive seal kits. That is a big plus because you can get the rebuild kits from Kioti or Rhino. On the other Kioti loaders you had to purchase the whole cylinder. I researched this issue last fall before settling down on the 2409/HD bucket. Other posts have alluded to the newest Kioti loaders being Korean made. I'm not sure about that. Last fall, all of the loaders available for the DK45 were made in the USA. If serviceability is an issue to you, call Kioti Parts to get to the bottom of it. The Rhino 2409 is smooth and very well built and will easily lift the front end of the DK45 off the ground. In fact, it will lift the rear end up off the ground when curling the bucket (high engine rpm's) and that is with loaded R4's and a box blade attached. A quick disconnect bucket setup would be convenient, but the added weight does reduce the lifting capacity. The Rhino orange is a very close match to the Kioti orange. I've dug and loaded about a dozen tandems worth of dirt and did not crave a self leveling bucket. You can mark the bucket level indicator rod with paint at the level position. Kioti is a middle man for most of their attachments and accessories, so that is why their price is higher. Call Kioti to see if AgriCredit cares if you finance a Rhino 2409 or a Kioti 1590. As with most decisions you will have to weigh out the tradeoffs. The DK45 should handle your stated needs.

I had a new seal kit installed on the bucket tilt cylinder on my Kioti Kl1450 loader that had a small leak when I first got the tractor.
The Kioti cylinders had seal kits available and the cylinder was easy to take apart.
