Our sassafras burns nice and hot. It pops a lot. However, it is a softer wood and the dried pieces are very light weight. It burns up very quickly. Even on the low setting in our stove, it will burn a full load up in 4 hours. I get about 6 hours out of our cherry and oak. I get about 8 hours out of our locust. The only reason I harvested it is because I wanted those sassafras tress out of that area.

After some very close meticulous examination The conclusion reached was really quite evident. It's cut up wood! No doubt about it!![]()
