What kind of wood is this?

Any idea what kind of wood this is? I cut the tree down a year or so ago. It was growing in a wetter area of my property that has some hardwoods in it.

Is it coniferous, the barks looks it but I'm no tree expert, I have 1 tree on my property called Austrian pine that the bark looks like that.
The brown heart makes it look like maple, but the bark does not.

These are not even guesses just thoughts.

I agree it looks like a coniferous tree but the wood is fairly dense. I cut it down over a year ago and pushed the logs into a pile with other logs. I have no recollection of the tree. However, the area it was cut down has no coniferous trees that I can recall.

No, it's somewhat dense. Not like oak or maple, more like walnut I think.
