Actually the saying is not always meant in the literal sense...it can (as was the case when I posted it) also mean that when someone is pointing a finger they actually have three fingers pointed at themselves...

similar to the old playground saying......I'm rubber, you're glue....

It is really a form of rebuttal to psychological projection...

My buddy is a strict adherent to the 組lass is half full philosophy in life. Great guy to be around but he痴 a crummy bartender...!

I was a Straight A student. Valedictorian of my HS class (small as it was, at +/- 120 students) but I have no idea what you're talking about (granted, my strength was Math, not English...).

Perhaps you aren't accustomed to warped thinking. I thought it made sense, and I was a fair/good student.

The evening news provides a list of events that are new. Each item of the show could be referred to as a "new." That's the warped part, in that "new" is used as a subject, rather than an adjective.
