Personally, I like it when these threads take a tangent and go off in different directions for a while because it provides some interesting reads while I am sitting home, bored, due to virus restrictions. I have been posting much more often since I have so much less to do these days, being semi-retired and avoiding contact with most of my friends, but I fail to see how some of you who have joined TBN many years after I did, have attained thousands of more posts than I have. DON'T YOU PEOPLE WORK? :) :)

WORK? Funny thing these days even before the Covid Boogeyman showed up. A select few busting their asses to make this world work, feed the people and keep things functioning/moving, and beyond that, a lot of dead wood that still gets fed, clothed, and then goes on a protest for more FREE stuff and "rights".

The way I see it. Decent people are OK with working and only getting a fraction back for the common good. Human nature. But man, giving nothing and expecting everything is just not gonna work.

The moderators have the ability to ban members either for a period of time or permanently. Just sayin

I too have no problem with a thread that wanders, especially one that has been in existence for some time...in fact, I take it as a compliment that a thread I have posted stimulates enough interest that takes it where no one has gone before. As for working, I'm retired...after paying on my SS for 50 years or so...so I have an excuse...not only for the number of posts I make, but for the number of times I repost something I forget I have posted before!

Just so everyone knows, when I posted

"What has this thread devolved to?

"

It was supposed to be tongue in cheek, but a certain sap had to blow it up and I let him draw me into a pissin match.

In response to this, but still staying on track... "There's a sucker born every minute" ;)

"The Navy won't take you. Your parents are married."

This is a quote attributed to a Marine requiter in the PBS documentary, "The War." It's currently being rebroadcast, and I'm always amazed by the hardships people endured.

And I have no ill feelings towards the Navy. I just thought the quote was funny.
