Of all the talents bestowed upon men, none is so precious as the gift of orator. ... He is an independent force in the world. ... whoever can command this power is still formidable

“Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”
― Albert Einstein
That quote is taken out of context of a much longer essay written by Einstein.

In a letter written in 1954 he wrote this:

“The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weakness, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still purely primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation, no matter how subtle, can change this for me.”

What is clear from Einstein’s writings on science and religion, though, is that he didn’t believe in a personal God, and saw theistic religion as a man-made fiction.

Thank you for that. The quote was attributed to Einstein exactly as I posted it. I guess you can't trust anyone any more. I don't know what their motivation was, but it is patently dishonest.

The quotes of many famous and celebrated people are taken out of context. One has to do a little digging to uncover the entire context of what they meant to convey.
People have done this forever, using out of context quotes to bolster their reasoning or argument. When I read some of these, my BS alarm immediately goes off.
