What is your favorite Quote or Saying?

I am told our area is tricky to forecast but one thing they seem to be very accurate with is the wind. Next the temperature. Not so much the sun and precipitation.

Years ago our home phone was similar to number you call for the weather. True story:
Phone rings at 5am. We're dead asleep. Guy says "how's the weather today, we're going hunting".
I asked "Do you have a window?"
There's a pause...guy says, uhh...yes.
I said "Well open it and stick your head out. Pull it back in. If it's wet it's raining, white it's snowing, hair messed up it's windy, if you see your breath it's cold, otherwise it's warm out" then I slammed the phone, guy was laughing.

Same people say either plug it in or plug it up for a lamp.

Some people "Open" and "Close" a light switch.

I've never heard it called a plug, but often have heard "plug-in" for it.

I usually hear it referred to as a receptacle, but that could just be local dialog.

Here, it's almost universally called a plug. Do you have a plug, where's the nearest plug?

On the other side of the coin. I can't even spell receptacle. And always strapped for an abreviation on labels. Maybe PLUG aint that bad after all.

I think a lot of people call them "outlets"...when they mean receptacle...(most are duplex)

I attended a civil trial once, and the defense lawyer stood up and made a lengthy and detailed argument to have the case dismissed.

The judge listened patiently to the whole thing, and when she finally shut up he said, "I'm not going to comment. Motion denied."

I thought it would be cool to have that kind of power, and I envisioned using a similar quote at some time. It hasn't come up yet.

It all kind of reminds me of a sibling threatening another to tell dad of their misdeeds. And when they go to dad, he punishes THEM for being a tattle tale.
